Colorization is the process of applying Color to (typically) Black & White Photographs. There are several techniques that work with different “styles” that you want to achieve. Colors may be applied to achieve a primitive effect or very life-like results. One common effect is to limit the use color of color to the main subject(s) and draw the viewers eye to the subject in an otherwise B&W photograph. Even with this approach there is a range of artistic effects possible from using very subtle colors, which gives the piece a sense of age, to realistic colors and tones, or selectively applying strong colors to achieve a more primitive impression.
Other effects are commonly applied to color photographs to
achieve an artistic quality. These include converting the photograph to a
pencil sketch, charcoal, water color or oil painting. With each effect
there is a wide range of stylistic results possible. All work of this nature requires a quotation. The
